All meat, no fat: IMAXINA SONS

There are festivals... and festivals.

Enrico Rava, Michel Portal for free, Barry Guy bass solo for €2, Stefano Bollani , the Barry Guy New Orchestra for €3, Wayne Shorter, Ken Vandermark for €9-12... those are a few of the concerts announced for this years Imaxina Sons, the 4th edition of a different kind of Summer jazz festival. It takes place in Vigo, Galicia, in the North-Western tip of Spain, a region known for their seafood and their white wines (Ribeiro and Alvariño) although personally I think their most surprising foodstuff is the potato ("cachelo") which is simply incredible (for a potato, that is.)

If you still have the chance to catch it, do. There are direct flights to Vigo from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, from London Stansted and Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Santiago de Compostela, and from London Heathrow to A Coruña. Oporto is not too far and has a wider offer of flights.

Imaxina Sons is on from June 26, Thursday, till July 6, Sunday.
